MDV is first in Europe to obtain favourable expert´s opinion on suitability of fluorescent label papers employed on food packaging for dry, non-fatty foodstuffs

As the standards for food packaging in Europe evolve and become more stringent, it is in keeping with MDV’s policy, to keep striving towards meeting these standards for their specialty label face-stocks1). They have now obtained an Expert’s opinion1) (Issued by ISEGA), which states:

“According to the test results, the fluorescent papers listed above2) do not transfer substances to the packed foodstuff, which could endanger the consumer’s health or change the composition or the organoleptic characteristics of the food stuff in an unacceptable way if used as intended for the manufacture of labels, which are employed on the exterior surfaces of food packaging materials for dry, non-fatty foodstuffs.”

While the company leads the way in this field, MDV are already on their way towards defining the test parameters with the experts, to widen the scope of usage to include packaged wet and fatty foodstuffs. We will keep you informed.
